Trend or Trash? - Leopard Print //

Dear Readers,

It's finally that time again when the autumnal seasonality graces our clothes racks and we become bound to cosy knits and heavy-duty jackets.

But I'm not here to talk about the inevitable pieces which reappear every season. I am here with the rather questionable 'trends' that are beginning to show up in our stores now.

Up for discussion today is Leopard Print.

Even the London buses were rocking leopard print
Maybe how not to do it?
Some of you will be shriveling back in your seats, moments from pressing the 'x' at the corner of your screen. However, some of you will inwardly cheer at the thought of a Pat Butcher rebirth.

I know it can be a shocking thought for some, when a bitter-sweet trend rears it's two-faced head again in the High Fashion and High-Street Fashion shows and eventually all stores.

Below I have curated a mood board alongside some current Topshop pieces I spotted whilst I went shopping at Topshop Oxford Circus.

TREND OR TRASH? Leopard Print

Christian Louboutin leopard print pumps
£525 - savannahs.com

Nicholas Kirkwood pointy-toe pumps
£445 - italist.com

Zip purse
£490 - runway2street.com

Leopard Print Cami Dress - £59
Leopard Print Clutch - £32

Leopard Print Ruffle Dress - £46 (I picked this dress up)

Leopard Print Midi Dress - £24

Mono Animal Ruffle Long Sleeve Blouse - £34

When choosing whether to place this style into the 'Trend' or 'Trash' category I had to consider many important factors; that year after year it somehow makes its way back into our closet, it can add so much edge to an outfit and most importantly Alexa Chung still sports the print (which on that basis alone could put me off placing it into the 'Trash'.

So whilst some of you may disagree, I do believe leopard print has and for the foreseeable future, got a place in our ever-expanding wardrobes.

Stay Sweet,

Alice xx
