Best Beauty Products of 2016 //

Dear Readers,

Despite 2016 being one of the weirdest years to date, it would seem that we have all experienced a life-changing year, filled with a lot of negative outcomes. However, in spite of all the political shocks and celebrity deaths which have occured this past year (I am still not over Alan Rickman or George Michael), I wanted to write something a little light-hearted.

So as my final post for 2016, I am going to share with you all my favourite beauty products that I have used this year.

Review: Rianna Phillips England //

Dear Readers,

I was lucky enough to receive a customised Rianna Phillips phone case. The packaging holding the product reflected the aesthetic of the item perfectly, as printed tissue paper and photo prints adorned the box it came in.

The case was designed by Rianna herself and includes a drawing of a set of eyelashes and my blog name. I really love the case because of the made-to-order aspect, each design has the power to create an entirely unique look. A phone case works closely with any outfit and can develop your look from playing it safe, to playing it cool.

Upper East Eyelash Phone Case - £24

I'd love to know whether you purchase any Rianna Phillips products, so feel free to comment below. I also recommend that you check out her blog,as it has lots of interesting fashion related posts.

The Christmas Glitter Lip //

Dear Readers,

Firstly, Merry Christmas Eve!

If you're searching for the perfect glitter lip combination to try this holiday season then this easy look combines just four products and works perfectly together for a festive take on the red lip.

Line Yourself to Victory:

The most important step when creating a slick red lip is to line them first before applying any lipstick. This will create a strong barrier and will prevent any colour bleeding (because who wants to look like The Joker at Christmas).

Rimmel London Lip Liner (Red Diva) - £3.99

Using a red liner follow the natural shape of your lip. Then fill in the rest of your lips with the liner as this will ensure a better colour intensity.

Add The Colour:
Now you've got the outline sorted, you can go in and apply your lipstick. I opted for my go-to shade which is the classic Louboutin red.

Rouge Louboutin Silk Satin - £65

Gloss and Glitter it up:

Take a gloss (I opted for Max Factor) and dip the applicator into a glitter of your choice. I reused the glitter pot I bought at Partylol for my Halloween look. Alternatively you could use body glitter or any pigmented eyeshadow.

Max Factor Colour Elixir Gloss

Using the combination of gloss and glitter, dab it across the lips gently to avoid any fall out.

Glitter - bought in store at Partylol

Clean up the edges with concealer.

Now you're ready to pout the night away with your festive glittery red lips.

The truly spectacular Polesden Lacey

Retreating from the cold, I hid myself amongst mahogany furniture, extravagant floral displays and gold-plated interiors.

Whisky anyone?

I felt a little bit like a Prime Minister in these shots - *Chants* "Alice Bradley for Prime Minister"

It was so much fun to shoot this post at Margaret Greville's home, Polesden Lacey in Surrey. There is currently a Christmas exhibition going on at the venue, so if you like what you see in the pictures, then you will be blown away by the location in person. There is lots to do there including exploring the idyllic grounds, which is perfect for a Christmas country walk.

Have a very Merry Christmas.

The Christmas Jumper - Missy Empire Collaboration //

Dear Readers,

The Christmas Jumper is the ultimate seasonal weapon. They are a great way to inject some festivity into any outfit, without looking like you've tried too hard to become a resident of Whoville. However, I do believe the more wacky the jumper, the better.

When I saw this red slogan jumper, I knew I had to have it. Being a busy university student and having finals week and deadlines mounting, I found I couldn't quite soak up the Christmas ambience. This jumper totally summed up my mood. The feeling of wanting to relax but not quite being able to.

Now I am home for Christmas and I am feeling at-one with my over the top Christmas obsession. May the festivities commence!

I wore this jumper whilst shopping and I got a lot of looks; mostly laughter, the occasional snigger and the one-off look of disgust. RESULT! I managed to score all of those reactions in one day of shopping in Horsham and Guildford.

The Bradley Christmas Tree - 2016 //

Dear Readers,

I wanted to share this post with you sooner, but I had lots of deadlines and exams this past week. Luckily, I am now home for the holidays.

Last Friday, myself and my Dad were given all the responsibility to go and find this year's Christmas tree. Typically I go with my Mum, but she could not do it this year, so it was up to us to find the Bradley Christmas Tree.

I decided to film the experience for you all. Enjoy!

How To : Balancing Your Life //

Dear Readers,
It's always the way, nothing comes around when you have little to hold you back. Yet the moment life starts to get a little busy, you find yourself being thrown new opportunities left, right and centre. I am the type of person who just can't seem to say no. I enjoy pleasing others, but there is point when it all gets too much, when being a 'yes' person is harmful to my balance.

This is something which hinders us all at one point or another in our lives. It can be somewhat disheartening to have to say no or to remove ourselves from a situation because it is not good for our inner peace.

But saying no doesn't have to be a bad thing. It is important to focus your attention on things which are essential to your development. Strategise what will be most beneficial to your life and what can be put to the bottom of your list.

Recently I found that I was trying to balance studying full time in London, paying for a house, working back at home (West Sussex) during weekends and maintaining content on my blog. Something had to change because it felt unnatural to have to do all those things and still work to a high standard

A couple of weeks ago I was contacted very last minute to come and do work experience with heat magazine. I did way up the pros and cons of doing it during such a ridiculously busy time, but I came to the conclusion that it was an offer I just could not refuse. I had to just deal with the fact that it did sit in the middle of a lot of deadlines and exam preparation. I am however, so glad I took that opportunity and seized that moment because I gained a lot of knowledge and hands on experience about the industry I want to work in.

Not only is it good to say 'yes' to things that will bring you closer to your goals in life, it is ok to say 'no' to commitments and offers so that you can find time to just relax.

I think that is the most important part of finding balance. You must have a moment in each day to really relax, otherwise you can become this unproductive zombie that moans at every task they have been set to do

Here is a list of things I do to keep my balance:

Write Lists - Clear your mind of any mental clutter and get it all out onto one piece of paper or in the notes section of your phone. Keeping it all in one place will also prevent your desk area from getting messy. After all a clean work space means a clean mind.

Get Comfy - Get home and get into clothes that feel comfortable. I love putting on my favourite pyjamas, a good pair of socks or slippers and taking my makeup off.

Empower Yourself - This is along the same lines as a self-fulfilling prophecy. Visualise yourself somewhere that is free from any stress or burden. Find a minute in your day to just close your eyes and breath.

Eat Well - Now this doesn't mean you need to eat super healthy. It does mean you need to find the time to eat and drink so that you have enough energy to get through your day productively. Even treating yourself to a Starbucks Gingerbread Latte after a long day in the office is the perfect way to recentre your balance. Everything in moderation though.

Switch Off - I am seriously guilty of not removing myself from my phone. I am constantly scrolling through feeds, reading blogs and watching YouTube videos in any spare minutes I have. It's ok to do it a couple of times a day, but try not to overindulge on your apps. Instead pick up a book or magazine.

Exercise - Probably the most important thing I do to maintain balance is doing regular exercise. I'm not signed up to a fancy gym that cost a fortune, instead I workout in the comfort of my own home with my trusty 7 Minutes app which I have been using for nearly three years now. It is the perfect pick me up, even after a long day at uni. Find something that works for you, like a yoga DVD or an app and stick to it. You will feel the endorphins working on your mood.

Stay Sweet,

Alice xx
