Where To Eat: The Half Moon Pub, Kirdford //

The Half Moon sits in an undisturbed country village in the heart of Kirdford, West Sussex and has been revamped by owner and fashion model Jodie Kidd. With an equine inspired interior and homely country pub feel, Kidd has transformed the previously quiet Sussex establishment into an upmarket and lively jaunt. The Half Moon attracts locals by hosting monthly quiz nights, serving spicy homemade curries lovingly made by Kidd herself.

The gastro pub also offers an extensive A La Carte menu and a six course tasting menu, accompanied by a selection of wines paired perfectly to each dish. Every course is made with fresh, locally sourced Sussex produce, whilst most of its vegetables and herbs are grown and handpicked onsite in the gardens next to the Grade II listed property.

The Half Moon strikes the perfect balance for pub-goers, as it is a quaint place to reside for a pint of local bitter after a long day’s work, or for a more dressy affair dining with friends. The Half Moon is also a frequent pit-stop for classic motor enthusiasts en route to the Goodwood motor circuit.

This country escape is a labour of love that deserves to be celebrated.
